Back to it

Well, here I am again, thinking that I need a blog. I’m not sure what it is about a blog that has enthralled me, but ever since I was in junior high the idea that I could write things and have people read them (or at least fool myself into thinking that they read them) all over the world has given me butterflies.

This time, I’m even hosting my own website on my own hardware in the basement of my own house, which is another idea that has always made me giddy inside. Call it self sufficiency, call it frugality, call it a pure excuse to call something truly “mine” - I have always liked the idea of running a website from my basement.

Alas, one cannot simply have a website without any content. Or, at least, one cannot really enjoy such a site. There’s no challenge, no purpose.

So here I am, yet again, starting a blog.

Perhaps this time, I’ll manage to keep at it. Or, like my other blogs and writing habits, perhaps this will fall into the abyss and lanuish in a half-cared-for-state while I pursue more interesting or less daunting things.

I promise nothing, other than the fact that this blog will truly be rambling and ecclectic as I follow my whims to write about whatever whenever. I’m hoping that by allowing myself to avoid the trap of “relevant” content I can keep up my consistency.

I do, after all, tend to peform better when the stakes are low.
