Productivity

Life is a series of productivity tips and tricks and tools
sewn together
by a needle of desperate yearning and threads of unbridled optimism.
That something might be different. easy. better.
We look to be something more
And it’s good, to look. To try.
Standing still is not a part of the DNA, though
Perhaps productivity is not either
Perhaps the momentous desire for efficiency
is, in fact
The desire to move beyond the Bullshit
Yearning to get through, fast, that which impeeds Life
As though the Bullshit isn’t Life
Even as I attempt to hold tightly that which slips
so easily from my intention
Lost in what is next, ignoring what is now
Life is now. So is Bullshit
And it is next, and might be more
The pursuit of better does not kill,
but like water it can
if drunk too deeply, or not respected, or ignored.
Heaven will cure strife but not striving
